MINNESOTA, USA — As the season turns to fall, it is time to get out the pumpkins, flannels and "I Voted" stickers.

If you like to skip the lines and vote early, then now is the perfect time. Early voting opened in Minnesota on Friday. If you are planning to vote early, here is what you need to know.

You can apply for an absentee ballot on the Minnesota Secretary of State website at this link . You will need this if you are planning to vote by mail.

Make sure you apply for an absentee ballot with enough time so that election officials can mail it to you and it will be received by Election Day. If you want to make sure your ballot was received, the Secretary of State website also has a tool to track your ballot.
