SCIOTO COUNTY, Ohio. (WSAZ) - A man from Portsmouth has been arrested for compelling prostitution, according to Scioto County Sheriff David Thoroughman.

Sheriff Thoroughman said the incident occurred on Sept. 22 when a deputy was driving southbound on Scioto Trail approaching the intersection of Kinney’s Lane and Scioto Trail.

The deputy noticed a woman attempting to roll down the rear passenger window as if she needed help, Sheriff Thoroughman said.

He said the deputy later heard the woman screaming out the window that the driver was high and it was unsafe.

The deputy stopped the vehicle on Kinney’s Lane and the Ohio State Highway Patrol assisted on the stop, according to Sheriff Thoroughman.
