A judge declared a mistrial in a York County murder case because a key witness was Detective Mark Baker, one of three officers slain in a mass shooting while investigating a domestic-related stalking incident in York County last week.
Baker , 53, was an expert in digital forensics and served a four-year deployment with military police in Heidelberg, Germany, before eventually joining the Northern York County Regional Police Department.
His death has affected a murder trial. York County Judge Kathleen Prendergast declared a mistrial in the case of Jeremiah Monte, 31, of West York. Monte is accused of killing his 10-month-old son in 2015, according to court documents.
