Snow is falling in Colorado’s high country, marking the first flakes of the season.

At Rocky Mountain National Park’s Alpine Visitor Center , snow began around 5 p.m. Sept. 22 and has continued to accumulate above 10,000 feet.

The weather led to temporary road closures in the park, including Trail Ridge Road and Old Fall River Road, according to an emailed news release from park spokesperson Kyle Patterson. Rangers will assess road conditions Sept. 24.
