MANCHESTER, N.H. —

As drought conditions worsen, New Hampshire landscapes are beginning to show the effects.

Most of the state is experiencing some level of drought. Parts of central and northern New Hampshire are in extreme drought, while southern areas range from abnormal to moderate drought.

With weeks passing without beneficial rainfall, the drought continues to worsen.

One recent photo from Penacook shows lilacs in bloom, unusual for this time of year, as they typically bloom only once in the spring. A second bloom often indicates the plant is stressed.
