NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Evolv weapons detection systems, which are already installed at all high schools across Metro Nashville Public Schools, will be installed in all district middle schools later this semester.
In a Tuesday press release from MNPS, the district announced that the Metro Nashville Board of Education approved an amendment to MNPS' contract to pilot expanding the system into middle schools. Installation in middle schools will begin after fall break and MNPS anticipates installing the systems in two schools each week, which they said would give sufficient time to train staff and students as well. Individual school communities will be notified one week prior to activation, the release added.
The pilot will cost about $1.2 million, according to MNPS, and will cost about $1
