Prince Edward County is moving forward with plans to adopt a formal friendship agreement with the Ukranian town of Krasyliv.

During Tuesday’s meeting of council, municipal staff gave a report on the ongoing process to establish a friendship agreement.

Council also reviewed a draft of the upcoming friendship agreement, which would have both municipalities maintain a working group that would organize cultural exchanges and other joint projects. The agreement does not include any financial commitments for either party.

Council briefly discussed the agreement, and Councillor Bill Roberts said it was important to support Ukraine in it’s ongoing war against Russia.
