The National Weather Service issued a report at 4:20 a.m. on Wednesday for dense fog until 9 a.m. for St. Lawrence, Franklin, Clinton and Essex counties.
"Observations show that fog has spread across much of the region this morning, and is locally dense. Visibilities are below one quarter mile in some locations. Fog will remain in place through about 9 am, before dissipating. Commuters may want to allow extra time to reach their destinations this morning, and be prepared for rapid changes in visibility," states the weather service.
