MARSHFIELD, Vt. (WCAX) - A Plainfield man is dead after crashing his motorcycle.

Vermont State Police say it happened around 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

They say they responded to a report of a single motorcycle crash on Route 2 in Marshfield near Onion River Road.

40-year-old Christopher Skinner was found unresponsive and was later pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say Skinner was going east when he failed to negotiate a turn and went off the road.

Anyone who may have witnessed the crash is asked to call the state police.
