A Vicksburg man has been charged in connection with a Sept. 8 drive-by shooting on Locust Street, according to the Vicksburg Police Department.

Police say officers responded around 7 p.m. to the 900 block of Locust Street for a disturbance involving a group of young men and women. During the incident, Alvin Truitt and Chauncey Walker, 19, allegedly fired shots at individuals as they were leaving the area.

Walker was arrested on Friday, Sept. 19, by the Copiah County Sheriff’s Department.

On Monday, Sept. 22, 2025, Walker appeared before Judge Angela Carpenter for his initial appearance on a charge of Drive-by Shooting. His bond was set at $100,000, police said.
