A Coventry man who sexually assaulted a young girl in the city has been jailed. Ghulam Abbass subjected his victim to a year-long campaign of abuse but has now been brought to justice.
Abbass, 47, was charged with multiple counts of sexually assaulting a child under 13. He was also charged with assaulting a child by penetration and found guilty by a jury at Warwick Crown Court .
Abbass kissed and touched the breasts of his young victim on several occasions between August 2017 and August 2018. A jury heard he touched her in a sexual manner several times.
Abbass, of Smith Street, Coventry , was sentenced to 10 years in jail at Warwick Crown Court in July. He is also banned from working with children and vulnerable people when he is released.
