A dog who bit and severely injured a woman amid a dispute over a buzzer system in Glasgow has been ordered to be destroyed.
Mary O'Farrell's American Bulldog, named Katara, pounced on Janette Shearer in Garthamlock on April 12, 2024.
O'Farrell had earlier confronted Miss Shearer, who had pressed her buzzer to enter a block of flats. Katara got out and attacked Miss Shearer who fell down a flight of stairs.
The dog sunk her teeth into Miss Shearer, who was left with around 20 puncture wounds.
O'Farrell pleaded guilty at Glasgow Sheriff Court to being in charge of a dog which was dangerously out of control.
Sheriff Gerard Bonnar today (Thursday, September 25) granted a “destruction order” on Katara following a report on the dog’s behaviour.
