A 'disgusting predator' raped a young girl in a campaign of sexual abuse lasting years. Matthew Webb's horrific crimes came to light after his victim came forward with the support of a family member.

She told police she had been raped by a man. An investigation was launched, with the child revealing she had been abused by Webb over a number of years.

On several occasions, Webb raped and sexually assaulted her, a court heard. He was arrested and taken in for questioning.

He was later further arrested on suspicion of the same offence based on new evidence. During his interviews, he was uncooperative and answered 'no comment' to all questions, a court heard.
