BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ( WBRC ) - THE NEXT 24 HOURS: We canceled the First Alert Weather Day, but there is still a chance for a few scattered storms this evening. It’s been dry for most of the day, but we are tracking a front producing showers and storms over Mississippi. Some of this wet weather could reach western areas, plus additional scattered storms and showers could pop up through early evening. The coverage will remain spotty, with any scattered wet weather dissipating later tonight; lows will be in the 60s.

We will have another mix of clouds and sunshine on Friday, with afternoon highs in the 80s. Once again, a few spotty showers and storms may develop in the afternoon, especially over the eastern half of the state.
