HIGH POINT, N.C. — Deputies with the Guilford County Sheriff's Office have found the body of missing woman Amber Marie Schimmelpfenning, 36, as well as her car.
Deputies say it started on September 9 with a suspicious activity call on Blackberry Ridge Drive in High Point. After searching the area and conducting several interviews, deputies found a crime scene. Schimmelpfenning was last seen just after midnight that day. Detectives have not been able to find her, and her case quickly turned into a homicide investigation.
On September 14, with help from the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office, deputies served Ricky Lam , 40, with warrants while he was already in custody on unrelated charges. He’s being held in Davidson County Jail without bond.
Lam has been charged with first-degree murder
