CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - Multiple arrests were made after an ambulance that was carrying a patient was shot into in Uptown Charlotte early Thursday morning.

The Sept. 25 shooting happened around 2:30 a.m. in the area of the Midnight Diner and Spectrum Center.

said that ambulance did not appear to have been targeted but was hit in the passenger door. The patient who was in the damaged ambulance was loaded into another ambulance and was taken to the hospital.

Nobody was hurt by the gunfire.

Hours after the ambulance was shot, police arrested 27-year-old Jaquarius Hykeem Mingo and 30-year-old Detevin Raheem Butts. Both were charged with the following offenses:

4 counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill

Felony conspiracy

Discharging a weapon into occupied property
