EAST HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — After suffering flood damage, the Hagaman Memorial Library in East Haven is planning on having a grand reopening by January, according to a release from the mayor.
Town administration has been working with the library, the town's insurance carrier and the carrier for the third-party vendor responsible for the cause of the damage, Mayor Joseph Carfora said.
The water damage was a result of a failed water line installed and maintained by a third-party vendor, according to the release. Restoration to the historic 1928 front rooms of the library and adult reading areas are nearing completion, and the children's department is next in line.
