(Nexstar) - Audrey Shin and Balázs Nagy are set to compete in the 2026 Olympics, representing their country in pairs skating after overcoming a bumpy start to their partnership.

The pair began training together in early 2024 after Audrey transitioned from singles to pairs skating, a move she had always wanted to try. Balázs, who had significant experience in pairs skating, faced the challenge of training a partner new to the discipline. Despite initial difficulties, their hard work and dedication have positioned them as strong contenders for the upcoming Olympics. Balázs said the process of starting over with a new partner "bruised his ego a little bit." He said it took them a while to learn how to interact. "The first year was tough."
