GILBERT, Ariz. — Several teens have serious injuries after the vehicle they were in crashed into a tree in Gilbert on Saturday night, according to authorities.

The Gilbert Police Department said the crash happened near Williams Field and Gilbert roads just after 10 p.m.

Police reported that there were five teenagers, ages 16 to 17 years old, in the vehicle. Four of them have serious injuries, and another had minor injuries and was cleared at the scene.

As of Monday evening, four of the five teens remain hospitalized. All are expected to survive, and one is still in critical condition.

"Evidence located on scene indicates alcohol may have been a factor in this incident," police said.
