MEMPHIS, Tenn. - A woman has been detained after intentionally ramming into a squad car at Overton Park, resulting in an officer being injured, the Memphis Police Department said Saturday.
Police said officers were called to the park around 5:15 Saturday night for shots fired call; once there, the officers determined that there hadn't been a gunshot, but that a woman's car had been struck by a golf ball.
MPD said the woman then left the scene, returned, and purposefully rammed into a squad car with an officer inside. Police said the woman was detained.
FOX13 crews at the scene saw a white minivan had struck the passenger side of an MPD squad car, caving in the door, deploying the airbags, and possibly breaking the front axle.
Crew members also saw an officer who appeared to be limping
