Whenever we reminisce about our mispent youth, memories of nights out in bars and nightclubs that no longer exist are likely to feature heavily.

You know the places: terrible toilets, sickly sweet alcopops, and your shoes stuck to the carpet. There's something that now feels liberating about growing up in an era of clubbing before camera phones and when you could still smoke indoors.

Of course, most areas of Greater Manchester had their own popular nightspots, and Bury was no different. It may not quite have had the party town reputation of a Stalybridge (Staly Vegas), but it still had its fair share of nightclubs, and some could be found in the unlikeliest places.
