ROCHESTER, Minn. - A major Rochester intersection is expected to close Monday to prepare for a phase of Link Bus Rapid Transit construction.

According to the city of Rochester, beginning Monday the intersection of 3rd Avenue SE and 6th Street SE will be fully closed. The closure is anticipated to last until October 27.

The city said traffic will be detoured onto South Broadway Avenue, which is accessible from 4th Street SE or 9th Street SE. Sidewalks at the intersection will be fully closed and pedestrians are encouraged to take alternate routes.

According to the city, access to parking lots and businesses will be maintained.
