SEATTLE — Fast food chicken chain Raising Cane's has provided an updated timeline for the upcoming openings of its first two locations in western Washington.

The company's first Puget Sound area restaurant in Seattle's University District was initially planned to open in the spring of 2025. A company spokesperson told KING 5 on Monday morning that the location is now slated to open in "early 2026" at 4345 University Way Northeast, close to the University of Washington's main campus.

Raising Cane's also says "pending city approval and permitting" a new restaurant in Lynnwood plans to open in summer 2026. The Lynnwood location is planned for 1232 164th Street SW, which KING 5 reported in April when permit filings by the company were discovered.
