LONGMIRE, Wash. — Limited water access has been restored to Paradise at Mount Rainier National Park after storm damage forced the park to shut down its water system earlier this month.
The National Park Service said Monday that water and limited flush restrooms are available at Paradise and are being supported by porta-potties.
Water at Narada Falls has not yet been restored, and porta-potties are in place for visitors.
On Sept. 6, heavy rainfall from a thunderstorm stirred up sediment in the drainage that serves as Paradise’s water source and clogged the treatment system. The water supply was shut off while the tank was refilled, the system was flushed and water samples were analyzed.
