PORTSMOUTH — Here are some recent arrests made by the Portsmouth Police Department:
Saturday, Sept. 20
A wife and husband were both charged with driving under the influence (DUI) within a two-hour timeframe, according to police. Shortly before 1 a.m., Kaila McGreal, 36, of 13 Narragansett Ave., was charged with DUI after being pulled over on West Main Road at Melville School for multiple traffic violations. At about 2:40 a.m., officers were dispatched to the police station for a report of an intoxicated man in the front lobby who was attempting to pick up McGreal, his wife. Matthew F. Wheeler, 46, of the same address, had driven himself to the station, according to police. While he was being placed under arrest, Wheeler did not comply and officers resorted to tasing him to get him safely
