Two motorcyclists had their bikes impounded after California Highway Patrol officers stopped them for speeding more than 85 mph in a 55 mph zone on winding roads with blind curves.

Neither rider had a valid motorcycle license endorsement, CHP said Monday.

“Don’t let the time of your life turn into your last ride,” the agency said in a statement, warning that unsafe speeds give riders little or no time to react, particularly on narrow roads and curves.

CHP said unlicensed riders miss out on critical training needed to handle a motorcycle safely.
