DES MOINES, Iowa (KCRG) - The Iowa Board of Educational Examiners has revoked the license of Des Moines Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Ian Roberts after being detained by immigration authorities .

The board made the decision to revoke Roberts’ license on Sunday.

According to KCCI, Des Moines Public Schools are planning to hold a special meeting at 4:45 p.m. Monday to discuss new information after learning that the board has revoked Roberts’ license.

It’s expected that Roberts will be put on unpaid leave by the Des Moines School District.

The Des Moines Public School Board voted Saturday to place Superintendent Dr. Ian Roberts on administrative leave after he was detained by Immigration and Customs Enforcement on Friday.
