At the Community Kitchen in New York City, everyone who sits down for the five course meal pays what they can with a sliding scale of $15, $45 or $125, and it’s all based on the honor system. The non-profit is the brainchild of author Mark Bittman who hopes this restaurant will bring the community together and give everyone a chance to enjoy a fine dining experience at a price they can afford.
