GUILDERLAND, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- An uncommon disease that only appears in a few cases each year across New York state has been detected in the Capital Region at a local elementary school. Albany County leaders at the health department confirmed one active case of typhoid found at the Guilderland Elementary School.
“If there's one case, the health department is going to jump on it. They'll figure out what it was, especially if, from what I understand, it was related to travel,” said Dr. Jim Saperstone, pediatrician with Community Care Physicians.
