Dates are set for the Catawba County Board of Commissioners and county staff to discuss school facility needs and the possibility of merging all three school districts in the county.
“Catawba County is hosting four upcoming school community conversations to share information about countywide school facility needs and the choices currently faced by the community,” a press release from the county said.
The county said it is having these discussions because of increases in enrollment in Catawba County Schools and projections of a continued increase in enrollment based on planned neighborhoods and migration.
The county hired the architecture firm McKissick Associates to study trends in Catawba County Schools and Newton-Conover City Schools’ enrollment and building capacities.
