OMAHA, Neb. ( WOWT /Gray News) - Champion boxer Terence “Bud” Crawford was ordered out of his car at gunpoint during a traffic stop in his hometown of Omaha, Nebraska. His head of security says the incident was “a nightmare,” and the officers’ response was unnecessary.
Omaha Police say a car driven by Crawford was stopped around 1:30 a.m. Sunday for reckless driving. An officer saw a firearm in the car while speaking with Crawford, so he and the other three people inside were ordered, at gunpoint, to get out, according to police. They were put in handcuffs.
A member of Crawford’s security team was found to be carrying a legal firearm, and Crawford was cited for reckless driving. Police say everyone who was in the car is legally permitted to carry firearms.
