Bhubaneswar: A low-pressure area is likely to form over central parts of Bay of Bengal during the next 12 hours, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) informed on Tuesday evening.

“An upper air cyclonic circulation lay over east central Bay of Bengal & neighbourhood. Under it influence a low-pressure area is likely to form over central parts of Bay of Bengal during the next 12 hours,” it said. ADVERTISEMENT

The system is likely to move west northwestwards and intensify into a Depression over west central and adjoining northwest Bay of Bengal by October 2. “It is likely to continue to move west-northwestwards and cross south Odisha-North Andhra Pradesh coasts around morning hours of October 3,” it added.
