KENTWOOD, Mich. — The bathrooms at Jaycee Park in Kentwood are closed for the season, the City of Kentwood Parks and Recreation Department announced Monday.

The department said that the bathrooms at the park were vandalized over the weekend and "suffered significant damage." The damage will result in the bathroom facility being closed through at least the end of the year.

The parks and recreation department said they encounter vandalism in the city's parks relatively often, but are working to add safety features and crime deterrents with the help of previous millage funding.
