CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - A troubling crime trend at some Ohio colleges and universities now appears to be moving in reverse.
Last year, 19 Investigates uncovered a surge in vehicle thefts at post-secondary schools across the state.
Now, new reports just released show the number of cars being stolen from campuses is going down.
By October 1st of each year, colleges and universities that participate in federal student aid programs have to publish an annual security report containing campus crime statistics for the previous three years.
These annual reports are just one of many requirements under the Clery Act , a federal law named in memory of Jeanne Clery. In 1986, the college freshman was raped and murdered in her dorm by a fellow student.
By law, the annual security reports must
