NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — The Office of the Inspector General ruled that three police officers were justified in fatally shooting a man last year at a West Haven car wash.
The shooting happened Sept. 19, 2024 at around 5 p.m. Connecticut State Police Sgt. Colin Richter, New Haven Police Sgt. Francisco Sanchez and New Haven Police Officer Michael Valente fired their handguns, striking and killing Jebrell Conley.
The report said that the Violent Crime Task Force learned that Conley had an outstanding warrant for his arrest on federal robbery and firearm charges. The indictment was from a shooting and robbery incident in Hamden.
