ELLINGTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. ( WNEM /Gray News) –The driver of a semi-truck in Michigan has been arrested after a crash involving a Jeep left three people dead, according to authorities.
The Tuscola County Sheriff’s Office said a 55-year-old Florida man was driving the semi southbound on Hurds Corner Road with a woman in the passenger seat.
Officials said the man failed to stop at a stop sign and collided with a Jeep carrying eight people going eastbound on Deckerville Road, which intersected with Hurds Corner.
The sheriff’s office said three people inside the Jeep died at the scene of the crash.
The other passengers were airlifted to a hospital. Some of the victims were in critical condition.
The driver and passenger inside the semi were also taken to the hospital for minor injuries.
