YPSILANTI, MI - One person has been arrested in connection with a shooting in Ypsilanti.

Police were called Tuesday, Sept. 30, to Harriet and South Washington streets in Ypsilanti for a report of shots fired, according to a release published around noon the same day.

Police found shell casings in the area. One residence in the 500 block of South Hamilton Street was damaged by gunfire, police said.

No victims were found, police said. The shooting also prompted a lockdown at nearby Perry Early Learning Center, 550 Perry St.

One person was arrested.

Police did not release information about the time the incident occurred or on the age and gender of the person arrested.

Police do not believe the shooting was random, officials said in a release.

The incident is under investigation.
