FLUSHING, MI – A candlelight prayer vigil has been scheduled for mid-week at a Flushing church for the victims of the Latter-day Saints shooting.
The vigil is set to take place beginning at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 1 at Flushing United Methodist Church, 413 E. Main St.
It’s being hosted in tandem between Flushing United Methodist Church and Flushing Presbyterian Church.
The gathering is set to take place three days after four people died as the result of a shooting and fire at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Grand Blanc Township.
Police say 40-year-old Thomas Jacob Sanford shot multiple people inside The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints off McCandlish Road on Sunday, Sept. 28 and set the building on fire.
