HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - A Hastings woman accused of sexual assault is being tested for fitness to stand trial.
Adams County records show 23-year-old Laura Kolle pled not guilty to one count of first-degree sexual assault.
Her attorney asked the court for a mental competency exam. Judge Morgan Farquhar last week ordered that she be examined by an expert from the Lincoln Regional Center and set a status hearing for Nov. 20.
Court records show Kolle lived with another woman and her 15-year-old son in Hastings from July 2024 to the end of August or early September 2024.
The affidavit states that during a forensic interview, the teenage boy said he had consensual sex at the home with Kolle and was aware that he couldn’t legally give consent because of his age. He also told police they date
