OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - A man is in the hospital after a felony assault incident in downtown Omaha late Monday.

Shortly before 10 p.m. Monday, Omaha police officers got a call for a shooting and located a man injured in the McDonald’s near 24th and Cuming streets.

An update Tuesday from police states the 35-year-old man told officers he was stabbed. He was taken to the hospital with potentially life-threatening injuries, according to police at the scene.

“We don’t know exactly where it happened, we suspect it was nearby. We are talking to some employees of nearby businesses, trying to find some video, witnesses, evidence,” Lt. Chuck Casey with OPD said. “Anything we can find at this point to try and lead us to who injured that male.”
