HUNTSVILLE, Ala. - Huntsville's new $343 million budget is set to take effect Wednesday, with more than $20 million dedicated to road improvements and repairs.
City Councilman Bill Kling emphasized that this marks a record high for road funding in the city.
Kling explained that this year's budget consolidates three smaller funds to cover resurfacing, street repairs, and major projects. "I think it’s a good thing that local government is trying to be proactive and trying to put as much money into very important road projects for the city," Kling said. "Yes, there's going to be some short-term inconvenience, but once the final project is done, it's going to be so much better."
