CHANDLER, Ariz. (13 News) - Sheriffs from across the country have gathered in Chandler to discuss operations along the southern border, and 13 News was exclusively invited to attend.

The gathering of state, tribal, local, and federal law enforcement from across the nation was designed to figure out the best way to work together to protect communities.

“The more we understand each other, the more we relate and kind of work together, communities are better off,” said Cochise County Sheriff Mark Dannels.

He’s also the chairman of the Southwestern Border Sheriff’s Coalition, and he said the conference helped ensure everyone is on the same page when it comes to border security.
