Several localities in southeastern Virginia are without curbside recycling service after the Virginia Peninsulas Public Service Authority and Tidewater Fibre Corporation (commonly known as TFC Recycling) parted ways in September.
The Virginia Peninsulas Public Service Authority’s Board of Directors voted on Sept. 23 to terminate its curbside recycling contract with TFC effective Sept. 30.
The authority said in a news release the termination was due to “significant performance deficiencies.” The authority said it has “requested records to verify the accuracy of its billing but has not received satisfactory documentation.” The authority continued to say that “TFC has not addressed adequate corrective actions.”
