BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ( WBRC ) - THE NEXT 24 HOURS: Tomorrow will bring us an easterly breeze and a few isolated pop-up showers. Expect Wednesday to be mostly dry with highs in the mid to upper 80s.

THE NEXT BIG THING: The afternoon will be hot through Thursday, but we will begin to feel major improvements in the afternoons by the end of the work week. Highs on Friday are expected to reach the low 80s. It gets even better by Friday as a surge of cooler air drops in from the northeast. We could see low to mid 50s in parts of the area by Friday morning.

The weekend will start off dry, with some very nice weather on Saturday. If you are going to the Alabama game at Bryant-Denny Stadium, the forecast looks great with highs in the 80s and decent sunshine.
