MOLINE, Ill. (KWQC) -Alleman High School football players gave back to the community Tuesday night by re-mulching the playground at Seton Catholic School.

The team’s quarterbacks led the initiative and got help from seven other teammates after practice, spreading the new mulch using wheelbarrows and rakes.

Alleman High School head football coach Tom Barber was there supporting the players’ initiative.

“I know they’re just re-mulching, but a new layer of mulch goes a long way,” Barber said. “It really, it really makes the playground look a lot nicer, a lot cleaner. So just one of those sense of pride that the work that they do doesn’t go unnoticed either.”

Players from all grade levels worked together to finish the job and got pizza from Seton Catholic School’s principal, Jane Barrett.
