Fire engines from stations across Coventry raced to a house blaze in Hillfields. West Midlands Fire Service sent a huge response to the house fire in Nicholls Street.

Emergency calls were made at 4.40pm yesterday, Tuesday, September 30, to report the fire. A total of three fire engines and three brigade response vehicles attended, crewed by firefighters from Binley , Foleshill , Canley , and Coventry fire stations.

A fire service spokesperson told CoventryLive the fire was in the living room of the house. "This was a fire in the living room of a two-storey terraced house." the WMFS spokesperson said. "Four firefighters wearing breathing apparatus tackled the fire using hose reel jets."

Fortunately there were no casualties. The fire crews quickly tackled the flames.
