ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - Oct. 1 is the first day of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and it’s all about community support.
Dr. Ryland Gore and April Estes from Making Strides Against Breast Cancer’s Atlanta branch sat down with Atlanta News First to talk about this year’s fundraising walk.
Making Strides is a fundraiser created by the American Cancer Society that works to unite communities to end breast cancer.
Gore and Estes spoke about how early and often one should be screened for breast cancer. They also gave some connections and advice to women going through cancer.
The Making Strides of Atlanta Walk is on Saturday in The Home Depot Backyard at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. For more information on the event, click here .
