GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — The Salvation Army in Kent County has announced that applications for Angel Tree assistance begin today. Businesses, churches and schools can also sign up now to host an Angel Tree site, collecting toys and gifts for children.
Those seeking assistance are urged to apply as soon as possible and provide all necessary information, as applications will not be accepted once all spots have been filled. To apply go to saangeltree.org.
The Salvation Army said individuals can support Angel Tree by "promoting online shopping, making a financial donation, or volunteering."
Angel Tree helps provide gifts for thousands of children and individuals each holiday season. Last year, the Salvation Army said it distributed $80,000 in food cards to families and nearly 8,000 toys
