Police have rushed to a synagogue after one person was reportedly stabbed in Manchester.

Emergency services attended to the incident, which was said to have occurred outside Heaton Park synagogue ON Middleton Road, in Crumpsall, Greater Manchester where a heavy police presence remains.

It has been reported armed police have also rushed to the scene after the reported stabbing took place.

Since the alleged incident occurred, reports have suggested the suspect in question has been shot, with GMP confirming the individual did not manage to gain access to the building.

GMP said his condition is not yet known, but he is believed to be alive.
