BOSSIER CITY, La. (KSLA) - A cookout fundraiser is being held to raise money for two Bossier officers who are now recovering after being shot during a domestic call at the Villaggio Apartments.

The Bossier Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #39 is hosting the hamburger cookout Friday, Oct. 3 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in front of the Bossier City Police Department (620 Benton Rd.).

On Sept. 14, the two Bossier officers were shot while responding to a domestic call . Officials say during the incident, Christopher Hughes shot and killed his estranged wife, Manissa Tranell Howard, 44. He then shot the two police officers, Travion Morris and Garen Simons. After, he shot himself; he was taken to a hospital, where he later died.
